Another award for our linden honey!
On December 14, 2013, the regional finale "Flavors of Warmia, Mazury, and Powiśle on the Tables of Europe" took place in Olsztyn, bringing together the best of the best. Bartnik Mazurski's linden honey took first place in the Regional Products of Animal Origin – Honey category .
This year's competition featured a total of 25 dishes and 91 products, of which 21 products and 8 dishes advanced to the finals. Participants included individuals, entrepreneurs, schools, and organizations representing individuals, including rural women's associations. Winners of the sub-regional qualifiers, held in Elbląg, Ełk, and Szczytno, qualified for the finals and competed for the Marshal of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship Cup and prizes. The submitted products were evaluated by a five-person jury chaired by Igor Marek Hutnikiewicz, Director of the Quality Policy Department at the Marshal's Office of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship.
The project will culminate in the publication of the brochure "Tastes of Warmia, Mazury, and Powiśle on the Tables of Europe," which will feature recipes for the products and dishes participating in the competition. This will preserve what is unique and unrepeatable in our regional culinary heritage. The organizers of the 8th edition of the "Tastes of Warmia, Mazury, and Powiśle on the Tables of Europe" competition were the local government of the Warmia-Masuria Voivodeship, the Warmia-Masuria Chamber of Agriculture, and the Europe Direct Warmia and Mazury Information Centre.
