The title of Farmer of the Year for the Masurian Bartnik

On February 7th of this year, the gala of the 20th anniversary edition of the National "Farmer of the Year" Competition took place in Warsaw. The competition jury selected ten winners in nine categories. The winners received the title of "Farmer of the Year" and the "Golden Apple" statuette.

The awards were presented to the winners and honorable mentions by: Eugeniusz Grzeszczak, Deputy Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, Dariusz Młotkiewicz, Secretary of State in the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland, Kazimierz Plocke, Secretary of State in the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski, Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development, Leszek Świętochowski and Wojciech Zbrożek – President and Vice-President of the Agricultural Property Agency, and Antoni Bukaluk, Rector of the University of Technology and Life Sciences in Bydgoszcz.

The aim of the "Farmer of the Year" competition is to promote modern agriculture and those agricultural producers who, through ingenuity and initiative, are able to adapt their work to the changing market and new realities within the framework of the Common Agricultural Policy. The high profile of the competition is confirmed by the growing number of participants vying for victory.

The 20th edition of the competition saw 284 farmers participate, with the top 27 advancing to the finals. Ten winners were selected in nine competition categories.

The competition is organized by the "Polish Farmer Club – Farmer of the Year" Association, and its partner is the Agricultural Property Agency. Honorary patrons of the competition include the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, the President of the Agricultural Property Agency, and the Rector of the University of Technology and Life Sciences in Bydgoszcz.

The Bartnik Mazurski Apiary Farm received the title of Farmer of the Year and a nomination for the "Golden Apple" statuette. The primary criterion for selecting the winners was management efficiency, measured by productivity and yields. Awards were given to achievements resulting from modern management, the farm's continued development and creating prospects for further growth, animal welfare, involvement in social and local government organizations, and the ability to obtain and utilize European Union funds.
